Buddhist Temple

Today I went on an optional excursion to a Buddhist temple about 40 minutes away from the orientation venue. It looked as if it were built hundreds of years ago. We learned about Buddhism, meditation, and proper bowing from one of the head monks. We also made prayer beads to wear as a bracelet!! They smell like cedar, which is really nice. After eating lunch we noticed a group of people playing on the icy stream that flows through the temple complex. We joined in! Snowball fighting and sledding on an solid icy stream was so much fun!
